Chapter 28
I was devastated that my love left. Jamie was the
only girl of my live! Jamie was the most sweetest girl I
have ever met. When her and Charlie left I don't have
much anymore. I lost my best friends.
Our factory has sure grown a lot, we have more
business then ever before! I'm as busy as a bee in
that factory! I'm working more than ten hours a day!
I get paid minimum wage now and can live with a
good amount of money. Now we own the entire
factory. I miss my friends but i'm still with my
brother's.

I really do want my friends back but I have to
stay strong and move on. Charlie sent me a letter
and said his leg is getting better and better
everyday. I never heard from Jamie yet but I wish I
did. Big Alex McDonald died from scurvy. He was
giving to much money out and he had nothing left.
Two months went by and finally he saw his friend
Charlie. It appeared that he had a fake leg. A bunch
of metal bars came up to his haunches. He wasn't
even using crutches. This was an astonishment to
see Charlie walking again.

Charlie was happy to see me but he had bad
news. Charlie's mother died! She was only 34 years of
age. I felt bad for Charlie, he is a good kid. So he will
be living with me.
Jamie sent Jason a letter the next day. It
read,"Dear Jason, I really miss you. I have some good
news and some bad news. The good news, our show is
getting really big. But the bad news is I can only be
there for a few months. So Jason I will see you soon!
From,Jamie."

Two weeks went by before he would see Jamie.
Finally, he saw Jamie. She was prettier than he
remembered. But there was a boy with her. As Jamie
approached the boy followed. Jason was confused, did
she have a boy friend.
"Hey Jason, meet my butler,Maurice."
Jason felt relief as she said he was her butler.
He thought she found a new man. So they went
down b the lake. They talked for a while asking if
she liked where she was simple things like that. So
Jason Felt brave for a minute and was soon to ask her
a question that he wanted to ask her a long time ago.

Jason asked," Jamie would you like to be my
girlfriend." Jamie answered," yes Jason I will!" So later
that day Jason took her to the theater. There was
nobody even close to being as good as Jamie. They
watched a few plays.
It was the most fun he had in a while. After the
play Jason took Jamie to the river. He brought fishing
poles hoping to fish.Maybe even swim if Jamie wanted
to.He'd figure they would eat lunch after.

They were having so much fun they forgot to
eat lunch. It was 9:00 pm when they got back to
the lumber yard. Jason couldn't see anything and
bumped into something furry. Jason heard a sharp
growl and immediately fell to the ground in pain.
Jason awoke in a familiar place.
Jason realized he was in the new hospital
across the street. Jason felt a tightness in his chest.
Did he get stitches? Finally he saw Abe and Ethan
walk in the tiny room that he was in almost
claustrophobic. L"Got attacked by a dog " said Ethan.

It took three months for the wound to heel.
Jason would get bored out of his mind just sitting
doing nothing. As the sawmill progressed and got
bigger Jason felt more useless. After Jason healed he
heard about a game recently invented a new game
called basketball. Jason had to try it.
It was a few days before Jason told his secret
fascination to anyone. He thought that he would be
able to go to Seattle and try it. His brothers surely could
afford it. Their business was getting to be really popular.
He would ask tomorrow.

Jason would be in Seattle very soon. Jason
didn't know any of the rules. Hopefully someone knew
them. Jason was excited to be there in the gymnasium.
At the end of the day Jason was the best the best player
there.
When he was in the locker room someone came
up to him and said "Hey, you could be the best I've
ever seen in the game. You know, this sport could be a
profession for you. You're great! Stay with it kid.

Jason stayed and took the offer. He would love to
be a pro basketball player. If he didn't he wouldn't be
able to get back home till later. Jason kept going to
the basketball court every day. After three days of
practicing hours straight the old man came up to him
slowly and said "Hey, if you want you can go to New
York and try out for the basketball tournaments and
become pro."
Jason immediately said yes. He didn't even think
about having permission to go to New York. He
couldn't wait to be pro. When he arrived there was a
guide waiting for him. He didn't even want to check in
to the hotel he just wanted to go to the court. Jason
couldn't believe that he was in New York, where he was
selling news papers five years ago.
