Tomorrow! Everyone is
Welcomed!

In Oxford Elementary everyone was buzzing like a
swarm of bees about the talent show.
"We're going to preform our cute ballerina dance!"
two girls happily claimed while twirling in circles.
"I'm going to rock out with my guitar" a boy shouted
while his guitar let out an ear piercing screech.
"That's nothing! I'm going to show my ninja skills!" a
boy said sneakily while doing some karate kicks.
But even though the whole school was excited there
was one girl who was sad about it.

going.

going to the show?

Now Brenda wasn't mad that there was a talent show,
she was sad because even though she wanted to go she
couldn't.
She didn't have a mean stepmother who didn't let her
go it was more that she was scared people would laugh
at her and tease her.
But what people didn't know was that Brenda had a
beautiful talent which she tried to hard to hide.

Brenda loved to sing, whenever she could she will go
to the music room alone and sing her heart out. Her
voice was soft as silk and sweet as butterscotch
Her voice could wake up birds and could make anyone
that had a frown smile.
But she thought her voice was nothing special and
would never dare sing in public in case somebody
laughed at her.
That's why when she heard about the talent show she
was sad that she wouldn't be able to sing.
As she sang hoping it will give her courage a
shimmering glow stated to show.

Poof! Out of no where a fairy appeared. "Hello. I'm Wendy your fairy
godmother and i could hear how sad you are. What's wrong?" She said.
"Well I'm confused i want to sing in the talent show but i'm afraid people
will laugh at me" Brenda said looking at the floor sadly.
"Don't be silly! The talent is for everyone to have fun and if you show
people who you really are they will be sure to like you!" Wendy said
happily fluttering her wings.
"Hmm. I never thought about it that way but i'm still scared to go up in
front of people" She stated shivering as she thought about it.
"Nonsense! You just need to gain some confidence. You should never be
scared showing people what you love to do." Wendy said looking proud
of herself
"Your right Wendy! If i show them how much i love to sing then im sure
they will be happy!" Brenda shouted happily.
"I'm glad you figured it out. My job is done here good luck singing!"
Wendy yelled as she disappeared in smoke.

With more confidence Brenda happily practiced all day long
getting her words and melody perfect so she can show to
everyone how much she loves to sing.
She hoped that the kids at her school will be accepting of her
talent and not make fun of her.
But what she didn't know was that her voice would make
everyone speechless.
