Ever since I was a little girl, I've
wanted to be a vet. Most girls in second
grade wanted to be singers, rock stars, etc.
Not me.
My dad, Brian Scott, graduated from the
University of Madison, Wisconsin Vet
School. We then moved to Iron Mountain
because he had a good job offer here. He
works at the Iron Mountain Animal
Hospital.
(That is my Dad and my two dogs, Macie
and Milo.)

One of my favorite things to do is go
help my dad at the animal hospital. I did
that ever since I was little. It is really cool
to watch him do surgeries and all that other
stuff. I never turn down the offer to go with
my dad.
One memory I have at the hospital was
when this dog got into a fight with a bear.
The poor dog was torn up from the thigh to
the chest. It was really interesting to
watch my dad and his tech Stephanie to
stitch the dog up.

A lot of people get lightheaded when the
see blood, flesh, and the insides of animals,
but I don't. I expected to feel sick when I
saw that kind of thing. I think it's actually
really cool. You might think, "Gross", but I
think it's really interesting to learn about
that kind of stuff.
I love animals, any species, so I want to
help them when the are injured. It feels
great to help animals when they are in need
to be helped. It gives me that special
feeling to do that kind of thing.

If I want to be a veterinarian, I have to go
to normal college, which is four years.
But after normal college, I have to go to 4-
8 years of vet school. That's a lot of school.
The vet school that I want to go to is in
the University of Madison. My Dad went
there and he said it was a great school. I
also lived in Madison for a while because I
was born there so I know what the vet
school looks like. My uncle went to the
University of Madison too, but just for
normal college.
