George was a little boy who 

lived in outer space. He lived 

with a mother and father, is 

what I must say.

George was a 

good boy and did 

what he was told. 

But one day, he 

realized the 

darkness was 

getting old.

He loved outer space except 

for one thing. There was no 

light, the darkness was mean.

He sat in his bed and was 

wondering why. He then went 

to bed and let out a sigh.

The next day he asked, 

"mommy, why is outer space 

so dark?" Mother replied by 

saying, let me begin from the 

start. 

Mother said space 

is empty and light 

does not have 

anything to reflect 

off of. Space has 

light but our eyes 

do not get to see 

its love.

George was wondering 

what kind of brightness 

was in outer space. All 

he could see was 

darkness, he said with a 

frown on his face.

Mother said how there are 

many stars in the sky. Their 

brightness is powerful and 

certainly not shy.

The star light is not seen because 

light travels in a straight line. The 

light needs objects to hit and that 

would make them shine.

George understood why light was not 

seen in outer space. His mother 

decided to take George to a special 

place.
