Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos 

Aviero, whom was born February 

5, 1985, is a very well known 

soccer player.He was born in 

Santo Antonio, Portugal. A very 

beautiful place filled with soccer 

fanatics, and soccer players. 

Cristiano; with 

Real Madrid in 

2012. 

Ronaldos parents are Maria Dolores dos 

Santos Aviero, and his father Jose   Dinis 

Aviero. Both his parents have been a major 

part of his life. Although he rarely saw his 

mother during his childhood when he was away 

at soccer camps, she was a big motivation to 

him. And his father, even though he loved 

him,was a major alcoholic, and smoker. His 

father died when ronaldo was at the age of 

20, barely entering his professional career. 

He died due to a chronic liver condition. 

Ronaldos childhood was very interesting. He was very adventurous 

and was also a very curious boy. Even though his family didn't 

have much money, his family made the best of it, and were very 

encouraging   about school and other educational things. They 

believed that the only way out of being poor was a good 

education, that would led to a good. Little did they know that 

Ronaldo was going to be a future legend in soccer.

Ronaldo, although he had a poor childhood, 

made the best of everything. His escape to 

many problems he had was to play soccer. He 

began playing soccer at the very early age of 

4, and gained to love it over time. When he 

was already at the age of 6, he was pulling off 

tricks, and was very fast for a child. Living in 

Portugal was also a big influence and 

motivation for him since soccer was all around 

him. 

When Ronaldo had gone to High School, he began playing for 

Sporting, (Portugal soccer club), and enjoyed it until he reached 

the age of 15. When he was 15, he was diagnosed with a racing 

heart, a condition that could force him to stop playing soccer. 

He was then hospitalized with laser heart surgery which would 

apply to the area causing the problem. It was only a few days 

later when he had began to play soccer again. When he resumed 

back to training, he tried even harder, which led him to being 

noticed by Alex Ferguson in 2003.  

Alex ferguson is a man very well 

known within the soccer area. He 

is a soccer legend, and a very 

good coach. During Ronaldo's 

come up, he was the coach of 

Manchester United at the time. 

Ronaldo caught his attention 

because of his potential, skills, 

and passion of soccer. 

With Manchester United, MU, 

Ronaldo was a star player and very 

successful. He helped Ferguson, 

along with the team, gain many 

trophies and also a higher ranking. 

His career there pushed him 

forward, and helped him get known 

for various tricks. There, he 

started playing at the teen age of 

18. 

As Ronaldos career expanded, 

more clubs began to notice him, 

including one of the top clubs of 

the world, Real Madrid. He was 

noticed at that time by Jose 

Mourinho. Jose is also a very 

well known soccer coach. 

Although he is not a legend, he 

had a very good reputation at 

that time while he was with Real 

Madrid. 

As Ronaldo took the offer, he 

enjoyed every last moment that 

he had with MU. The last game 

that he played with MU was 

won and very well enjoyed. 

Once the season was over, he 

made his final transfer to Real 

Madrid where he knew he now 

had greater responsibilities and 

more opportunity there. 

The Real Madrid transfer for 

Ronaldo was a major move. 

There, he broke the record 

for having 80,000 fans at his 

presentation, passing Diego 

Maradona's, a soccer legend, 

record of 75,000 fans where 

he was transferred from 

Barcelona to Napoli in 1984. 

     With Real Madrid , Ronaldo was 

loved, and as said before, very 

successful. He was known for his 

free kicks, his speed, and his style 

of play.

    Very often he was compared to 

Lionel Messi, another well known 

soccer player. Till this day , it is 

always debated of who is better than 

one another, but at the end of the 

day, it will all be based on opinions.
