           is for Allegory 

Animal Farm is an allegory. The definition of 

allegory is when a book is telling a story about 

something but it had a deeper meaning. For 

example Animal Farm is about a farm run by 

animals but the deeper meaning is that it is about 

the Russian Revolution. 

           Is for beast of England

Beast of England is the song that started the whole 

revolution. When Old Major introduced the 

revolution everyone broke into song. The song  

fired the animals up to start the revolution and 

start a new life. 

 is for Community,

Community because as the animals kicked Mr. 

Jones out they create a community where they all 

feel safe, where they are all equal and have a say. 

Where no one is in charge. 

       is for Declare, 

The pigs declared that they got more milk and 

apples than anyone else. They declared that 

the pigs should run the farm because they are 

smarter than everyone else. They declared a 

lot in the farm 

           Is for Equality,

After the revolution all the animals were equal. Food 

rations were equal, working hours were the same. 

Everyone was to be taught how to read. Everyone lived 

in the same conditions. Everything was equal. 

         is for forbidden 

Napoleon forbid anyone to sing beast of England at 

any point in time. He forbid anyone to give the 

hens food when they had their strike. He forbid 

Snowball from ever coming back. He forbid anyone 

from doing anything that would make him less of a 

leader.        

          is for Greed

In the beginning Napoleon and Snowball bickered 

and fought over ideas but Napoleon got greedy and 

wanted all the power for himself. 

          is for Hitler,

In the story Mr. Fredrick was the symbolized as Hitler. At 

the end of the book when playing cards Mr. Fredrick 

plays an ace on where Napoleon plays an ace. 

These symbolises that they both want the same land 

and they both attack it at the same time. Hitler was 

winning the war in Europe and then decided to attack 

the USSR but it was a step to far and Germany ended 

up loosing the war. 

                is for Isolation,

The pigs isolated themselves from everyone else. They told 

everyone that they were better and they needed more. They 

isolated themselves and lived in the house. The never walked 

around without the dogs guarding them. They never let anyone 

else see what their life style was like. 

      is for Joseph Stalin,

Joseph Stalin was Napoleon in the book. He took over the 

USSR and banned Leon Trotsky from coming back. He rules 

with fear. He used the secret police to control everyone and 

keep things in order. He had people work for him to tell 

everyone that he was great and knew everything. He got all 

the mothers to tell their children that he was the best, and 

they grow up believing it as well. 

       is for Karl Marx

Karl Marks created communism. He published a book 

called the Communist Manifesto. Old Majors dream was 

based upon the book. He brought up the idea of 

Animalism and states, "All animals are equal." Which is 

based upon what Karl Marx said as "From each 

according to his Abilities, to each according to his 

needs". 

         is for Leon Trotsky,

Leon Trotsky was Snowball in the book. He started off 

as being the joint leader along with Napoleon. Then 

Napoleon wanted it to change and Trotsky was over 

thrown. It was the same with Joseph Stalin. When 

Trotsky was overthrown he was portrayed as the bad 

one, and was blamed for everything bad that happened.  

           is for Overthrown,

Snowball and Napoleon always fought. Napoleon 

got greedy and got the dogs to overthrow Snowball 

so he could be in charge. Napoleon after that 

always blamed Snowball and banned him and he 

could never come back. Napoleon also used 

Snowball as an excuse to kill loads of animals. 

                is for Manipulation,

The animals were manipulated into believing that 

everything Napoleon did was correct and great. They 

were told that pigs were the best and that they needed 

more than everyone else. Napoleon had everyone to do 

things he wanted to and he had people to do things for 

him because everyone believed his was the best.  

          is for Narcissist,

Napoleon was the narcissist. A narcissist is to be greedy 

and self-involved. They only care about themselves. 

Napoleon was exactly that. He took control so he could 

have power and do what he wanted. He only ever used 

his power for him and sometimes the pigs.
