What is land management and why is it a problem?
Land management is the way that we manage the use and
development of the land in both rural (out back or country side)
and urban (towns and cities) areas.

The resources of the land can be used in many different ways such
as organic agriculture (natural farming), reforestation (re planting a
forest) Eco-tourism projects (this is when people travel to natural
and remote areas to conserve the environment and improve the
health and living standards the of local people)

The issue with using the resources of the land is that we have to
manage the amount that we take, because some resources are not
reusable and will die out. This is when Land management comes
into practice.

How does land management effect people and the
Australian environment? Some of the effects on the land
include: Land degradation (when different sources create damage
to the land. Some include extreme weather conditions especially
drought. As well as things that people do that lower the quality of
the soil and how much the soil can be used, effected the food
production, animals that live in that area and the provision and
production of other ecosystem in that area.)

Erosion (when somethings wears away over time from different
factors that could include human impacts on the environment or
weather conditions.

Decreased water quality

Salinity (how salty or the amount of dissolved salt in a body of
water, and also in the land)

Decreased biodiversity (decreased amount of variety of plants and
animals in a certain environment). Also with the introduction of
new animals they are causing damage to the land and endangering
native species
