Jessica and Suzannah go shopping for beauty
products.
Jessica: I want to buy some face cream. Do
you know where I can find the best quality face
cream?
Suzannah. Sure. Do you want cosmetic grade
or medical grade.
Jessica: I want medical grade, and I only want
the best of the best.

Jessica: I also want it to be organic, with no
chemicals or preservatives.
Suzannah: I understand your preference for
100% natural products, but any cosmetic
creme that is packaged must contain
preservatives to extend the shelf life.
Many products use so-called natural
preservatives, such as citric acid. The problem
is that this citric acid is not naturally occurring.
It is made in a lab.
We can find products that are more natural and
healthy than not.

Jessica and Suzannah go into a skin care store.
They are greeted by a consultant.
Consultant: Hi. How are you doing today? Is
there anything in particular you are looking for?
Jessica: Yes, I want to buy a face cream, and I
want something that is natural, healthy and
medical grade. I want only the best, and the
best of the best.
Consultant: Have a seat here. (Consultant
points to a stool at a makeup counter)

Jessica: No thank you. I just want
information first before I try
anything.
Consultant: OK, what type of skin do
you have? Oily, dry or combination
skin?
Jessica: My skin is oily.
Consultant: What concerns or problems
do you want to address?
Jessica: I want anti-aging and
something for wrinkles and firming.
I also want something for crapeiness,
dark circles and puffiness around my
eyes.

Consultant: I can help you with that. Would
you mind having a seat and letting me have a
closer look at your skin so I can make a better
recommendation?
Jessica: Are you a dermatologist?
Consultant: No, I am not a dermatologist. I
am a certified and licensed aesthetician,
though.
Jessica takes a seat and the consultant brings a
lamp with a magnifying glass closer to her face
to examine her skin.

Consultant: Well, your pores are very
fine, and you have no blemishes. There
are no blackheads or whiteheads, so
your skin is not too oily. You really
do not have wrinkles, so you want
prevention. You do have some puffiness
and thin skin around your eyes. That is
what is causing the signs of aging that
are of concern to you.
I recommend a collagen treatment
with glycosides to plump up the skin
in the eye area. Then a topical cream
with vitamins A, E, and C and herbal
extracts to increase circulation will
brighten the eye area and relive
morning puffiness.
