My sister is a year older than me. It’s not fair she always get attention
just because she is noticeable and popular. By noticeable I mean
noticeable. She has curly blonde hair. She has chestnut-brown eyes and
is kitted out in beautiful clothes. And you'd think I take after her. Me
I'm such a nerd. I've glasses, brown hair and clothes that are a bit..
They just don’t suit me. One day I asked her " Molly, how come your so
pretty and I'm weird?" Then she said " I don't know I got lucky I guess"
Then she walked off. I walked into the kitchen there mum was, baking.
About a month ago she opened up her own cafe, called "The Berries".
"Hey mum what are you baking?" I asked her. "Oh" she gave herself a
little shake. "Hey there, Emma didn't see you there. I'm baking
cheesecake." She said. "Want a slice?". "Hmm just give me that small
one" I said. I took the small one because I'm worried that I'm becoming
fat even though I'm an average size. "I can't wait for tomorrow!" I said
"Why are you so exited?" mum asked. "It's Alyssa’s birthday!" I said
"I'm sure that its going to be great!" KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK "I'll get
it" I said. It was dad. He had two shopping bags full of clothes for mum,
one for Molly, two for himself and surprise surprise nothing for me.
Dad

must have seen a little frown on my face because he said "Oh I've
got stuff for you my darling. The bags are in the car." So he went
and got them. The clothes were very pretty. I think I might
become a bit popular after all!
I woke up at around nine the next day. I was still rather sleepy,
but I was hungry. I went and got myself some toast and I heard
Molly’s alarm go off. She stomped down the stairs in her new
purple cat slippers and her purple dressing gown. She was pretty
even though she had a frown on her face. “What is wrong?” I
asked her. “Nothing. My snooze bar on my alarm clock is
broken.” “Oh” I said. She grabbed a slice of toast and sat down.
“Um… Molly?” I asked “Yes, Emma?”“Do you think I’m...” I could
not think of a word. “Weird?” she said softly. “Yes” I said. "Sorry,
Emma. But yes. When I say yes I mean good yes and...” She
admitted it.
Even my sister thinks I’m weird.

I was so shocked I started to cry. “Emma..” Molly called after me. I ran to my room. And
I also locked my door. Molly started slamming it saying things like “Emma stop being
angry with me and please open up!” She slammed so much that mum and dad woke up.
“Molly! Don’t wake up Emma!” I unlocked the door. “She did not wake me up. She
called me weird!” I said. “Molly! I expect more of you! I’m very disappointed!” said dad.
They went down stairs. “Sorry, Emma” she said. I could see that she was sorry. I look
into her eyes. “OK. I forgive you” I said and she smiled. “Breakfast?” she said even
though we already had toast. “Sure” I said and we walked downstairs.
“I’ve got a surprise for you girls!” mum said. There was two pairs of black sandals, two
white frilly aprons and a two long black dresses. My eyes glittered. “Wow, mum! Who
are you employing?” I said “You and Molly, silly!” she said. “We start tomorrow.” “OK.
But mum, today is Alyssa’s birthday!” I wailed. “You have at least four new outfits,
Emma. And I got Alyssa’s present.”
Mum got her a new book, bright, chunky, plastic bangles and a €10 worth Clare’s
voucher. “Wow! She’ll love them! Don’t forget that the party is at eight o clock so me and
Molly should be ready.” “Sure, sweetie” mum said. I had another five hours to go so I
tried the waitress uniform on, helped mum do some jam and custard doughnuts
(yummy!)

I then did my hair (I curled it!) and I put on a black vest top and over it I put
a tan light frilly to on. I put in my new contacts and then put my old runners
on. I looked great! I heard Molly walking into my room. "OK, Alyssa. Just go
away, and get ready!" Hi Molly." I said. She looked at me. "Hi" she said,
without any expression. "Molly?" "What?" "Why are you in your pajamas?"
"Because I'm not going to Alyssa's party. Duh." "But why?" "Because I'm mad
at her." "You know I'm her number one enemy." This was news to me. "Huh?
Why?!" "Just shush, OK?" I was really shocked. Alyssa is more of her friend
than mine. I checked my watch. Time to go. "Bye Molly" I said. I saw two or
three books. Classic ones, like Heidi, Little Women and What Katy Did. I ran
to the car and dad drove to the county club. Oh my! There were big chocolate
fountains and lemonade fountains and fruit punch and a big, colorful disco
ball! It was very fancy, like something you would see on the telly. I was
amazed! "Emma!" Alyssa said. "Your here! Oh my goodness! You look so
pretty!" "Thanks! You do as well!" We had a conversation about how I look
different and about this place. "So, LOOK" Alyssa screeched. "The people
from the telly!" "The telly?!" I asked. The TV crew came over. "Hello, honey!
My name's Nikki and I'm the producer of The Best Birthdays!" "You parents
told me that your the shows biggest fan, so I said, why not do your party?"

Alyssa was so shocked she had to sit down. "Wow. But Emma. Would
you like to be in it because your my BFF?!" I was so happy. "Of course!"
Nikki laughed. "Ha ha, you girls. So lets start filming!"
After an hour of the filming Mrs. Bekking (Alyssa's mum) said I could
come for a sleepover, so I rang mum and she said she'll be over later to
give me my pajamas. It was a great party. I rang Molly and told her I
won't be home tonight so she said "OK, don't worry about me, I'll be
reading - I mean giving mum help ha ha.."
She said she'll be reading...
Time to turn into a detective..
