One day, God told Jonah... 

"Arise! Go to Nineveh!"

God wanted Jonah to warn the 

people of Ninevah of their 

wickedness.

Jonah was upset because 

he did not like the people 

of Nineveh.

Jonah disobeyed God, 

and he fled to Joppa to 

find a boat that would 

take him to Tarshish.

He paid the captain of 

the boat, and then they 

set course for Tarshish.

A great storm overtook 

the boat, and the men 

were scared.

Jonah was fast asleep 

during the storm. The 

captain awoke Jonah and 

begged him to save 

everyone on the boat.

He told the captain that 

they must throw him 

overboard, and the storm 

would subside...

A giant fish came and 

swallowed Jonah in one 

gulp!

Jonah was in the belly of 

the fish for three days 

and three nights!

Then, Jonah prayed to 

God and repented of his 

sins.

God heard his prayer, and 

He made the fish spit out 

Jonah!
