I have a pet horse and his name is Sam.

Sam is tall and brown with a beautiful 

black mane and tail. 

A mane is a horses hair on their neck, 

they also have a long thick tail of hair.

Today I am going to teach you a little 

bit about Sam the horse and what I 

have to do to look after him.

Because Sam is such a big animal he 

cannot live with me, he lives on a farm 

with lots of other horses.

I visit same every morning to give him 

breakfast and visit again every night to 

feed him his dinner.

Sam gets excited when he sees me and 

nods head up and down because he knows 

its time to eat!

Horses like Sam like to eat hay, carrots, 

special horse pellets and sometimes even 

apples.

I like to give Sam an apple as a treat once 

a day when he is being a good boy.

During the day Sam can eat the grass in 

his yard on the farm.

My favourite thing about my horse Sam is 

that he is a good listener, when I am 

feeling sad or even happy I can talk to 

him and he will   always listen.

I also like to ride him on weekends, we go 

for walks at the beach or on the trails at 

the farm.
