Once upon a time, a long long time ago, there was a
princess, named Kristen, who was born to parents
who loved her dearly. Sadly, there was a war going
on during her birth, so her birth and Christening
were not able to be shared with the surrounding 12
kingdoms.
"She will always be loved," was what the Queen had
said, "even if we cannot share her beauty with the
world quite yet."

Shortly before the Princess's 13th birthday, the
war ended and peace was made.
"We must have a party to celebrate," said the King,
and so it happened.
It was on the day of her birth that the kingdoms
met, breaking bread and celebrating. Alex, the
princess of Dancy Land, wore a tutu to the
celebration that had been given to her by the fairy
of her kingdom, as each had one to watch over
them. Alex knew the tutu was magic, but not that
the fairy was evil and had put a curse on it.

The evil Fairy of Dancy Land, Ramona, had cursed
it so that every princess that touched the tutu
would fall asleep on the sixteenth birthday of
princess Kristen. Several princesses touched it
while sitting next to Alex at the meal table. Some
of them touched it while they were playing tag, and
the others did during the braid train.
"This was the best party ever!" was the mantra of
the young princesses who were there.

Three years later, in order one by one, the
princesses began falling asleep. The only way to
wake them up was with true love’s kiss. Thorns
grew around the castles where they slept that grew
larger and more menacing with every wrong match.
They grew venus flytraps and other poisonous
plants, but that didn’t stop the right man each time
from coming and bestowing their kiss upon their
respective princesses.
