Once upon a time, There was a little girl
named Abigail and she was so sad
because unlike her friends Emily and
Claire, she was nervous to perform at
the big ballet recital on Saturday.
Abigail was a worrier and she just could
not escape the butterflies in her
stomach. She was so afraid she would
mess up and let her class down.

Abigail went home that night, after
their last ballet class before the show,
with so much worry and fear. She was
trying to think of every way possible to
get out of the recital. She just did not
know how to cope with her anxiety.

That night as Abigail lay in bed looking at
the stars, she wished that she could find
some way to cope with her worries
before the show tomorrow evening. If
only there was some way she could
conquer her fear and put on the
performance of a lifetime, she thought.

The next morning Abigail woke up to
find a strange looking box sitting in her
living room marked, "To: Abigail".
She knew she had not ordered anything,
so what could it possibly be? Finally, just as
she went to ask her mom, she heard a
voice say, "Hello Abigail, I am Mr.
Wiggleworm the Worry Box". She was in
a state of shock when she realized the box
was talking to her. She thought she had to
be dreaming.

Abigail quickly ran to the bathroom to
splash water on her face to make sure
she was not dreaming and then she
headed back to the living room. She
stared blankly at the box until once again
it spoke to her. "Do not be alarmed
Abigail, the Mayor of Worry World sent
me to help you. You may know her she
talks to you at school when you are
anxious or stressed and she tries to help,
in the human world you call her a
counselor".

Mr. Wiggleworm the Worry Box then
began to explain how he helps little girls
and boys like Abigail struggling with
anxiety. He is a worry box that stores all
your worries. He tells Abigail to think of
what exactly is worrying her about the
dance recital and to tell it to him. After
she explains everything, he tells her that
her worries have been locked up inside
him and that they will not be able to
affect her for her performance.
