How does the French &
Indian War change the
relationship between the
colonies in N.A. & Britain?

Since the war was in North America; and costed a ton of
money, the colonist started to be taxed by Britain which
made them very angry.
Ultimately, it help to the revolutionary war.
The proclamation made the colonist angry, so they did not
follow the rules, and still moved west.
In 1764, Grenville asked Parliament to approve the Sugar
Act, which put a new tax on molasses. The Sugar Act
replaced an earlier tax, which had been so high that any
merchant who paid it would have been driven out of
business. Often, they bribed tax collectors to look the other
way.

They were taxed because of the stamp act;
they claimed, that there should be no taxation
without representation in the parliament.
Colonists insisted that only they or their
elected representatives had the right to pass
taxes.
Because of all the movements; the colonist
were angry, and rebelled. The rebellion led to
the Boston massacre, a very bloody rebellion.

How does the Albany Plan of
Union begin the idea of uniting
the 13 Colonies under a
centralized gov.?

The delegates in Albany knew that the colonists
had to work together to defeat the French.
Albany of Union - proposal from Benjamin Franklin
to create one government for all the 13 colonies
They wanted to create a general government for
the 13 colonies.
This called for a Grand Council made up of
representatives from each colony.

The council would make laws, raise taxes,
and set up the defense of the colonies.
The delegates voted to accept the Plan of
Union.
However, when the plan was submitted to
the colonial assemblies, not one approved
it.

None of the colonies wanted to give up any
of its powers to a central council.
But, the Albany Plan of Union suggests the
idea of uniting the colonies.
Since now, the colonies are united under
one central government and that is what
the Albany Plan of Union said would
happen, it shows how the plan of union
began the idea of uniting the 13 colonies.
