At some point in history, bicycles were the new 

invention for moving from one place to another.  

Before inventing bicycles, people used horses 

and carriages to travel from one place to 

another.   How do people use bicycles?  

The bicycle with its two wheels, became a very 

useful transportation tool for people instead of riding 

horses and carriages.   Using technology and 

science, the inventors of the bicycles, used a simple 

wheel and other tools to replace and change how 

people moved from one place to another.   The first 

bicycle invented sure did not look like the bicycles 

we see today.   Since then, there has been many 

improvements to the machine we call today bicycle.  

Today the bicycle is used for leisure.   People use 

bikes to go out for a stroll in the park, or ride up the 

mountains to enjoy the scenery.   Many kids learn to 

ride the bicycle at an early age so they can play with 

friends and ride to the park.   People enjoy riding 

bicycles.
