One day, Sally and Joe decided to go play outside while having a picnic. While they were eating, Sally's food started to attract bugs. She got bit by a tick and she didn't notice until Joe yelled, "Sally, there's a tick on you!". The tick that bit Sally was a deer tick, and had a nasty germ called Borretia Burgorferi.

The next day, Sally started having flu-like symptoms. She had a fever, chills, sweats, muscle aches, fatigue, nausea and rashes. Her rash was shaped in a bull's eye pattern. Her parents weren't sure what was wrong, so they took a trip to the doctor. The doctor had a hard time figuring out what was wrong, but he eventually diagnosed her with Lyme Disease.

Sally didn't feel as bad when the doctor told her people of all ages can contract Lyme disease. The doctor then prescribed Sally antibiotics such as Doxycyline and Amoxicillin. Fortunately, the antibiotics treated the disease since it was only at an early stage. If Sally didn't get the antibiotics, the disease could have become late stage or chronic.

Sally never wanted to experience that again. To prevent it from happening, she did not go outside as much. When she did go outside she would make sure to wear bug spray, so she would not get bitten by a tick again. Most people who are affected by Lyme Disease include children, older adults, and those who spend a lot of time outdoors.
