King Penguins are the second tallest penguin species. The Emperor Penguin is the tallest.

Their life span is 15 to 20 years in the wild.

Penguins molt in the beginning of breeding season, and stay on shore until they grow new feathers.

They do not build nests for their eggs. They carry the eggs and chicks on their feet and use their brood patch to keep their chicks warm.

The top layer of feathers gives them oiled and waterproof coating.

King Penguins walk slowly and do not hop unlike most penguins.

Swoosh! King Penguins swim very quickly in the water.

The father and mother penguins take turns taking care of their chick. One stays with the chick, while the other catches food and returns.
