The long trail through the woods looked dark and dreary. Why couldn't the bunnies stay in the sunny meadow? The smallest of all the bunnies, Hinkle, didn't understand why Mamma Bunny wanted them to go into the woods.

"But why, Mamma?" asked Hinkle. He clearly didn't want to go.
"It's a surprise," said mamma bunny, "and you wouldn't want me to ruin your surprise, would you?"

6
All of Hinkle's brothers and sisters were eager to go through the woods, they just wanted the surprise mamma bunny had promised them. After all, mamma bunny's surprises were always the best.

8
But Hinkle still wanted to stay in the bright meadow they had always been in. THis was all the little bunnies had ever known, but the others were curious as to what else there could be.
Not Hinkle.
9

This meadow was so green!

The grass smelled nice and tasted good.
There had always been pretty flowers to look at (and munch on from time to time).
There was a little pool of water that all the bunnies would chase each other around until they were tired and thirsty.
Then they would all stop, drink up some water and take a nap in the shade of the big oak tree.
11
These were the things Hinkle loved about his meadow.
12
If they left the meadow, they would be leaving all their yummy food, the squirrel family that Hinkle loved to play with, and most importantly their little den. Why would mamma bunny want to leave their cozy little den? Little Hinkle just did not understand.

14
"Time to go, kids!" mamma bunny shouted from teh edge of the meadow by the long trail through the dark and dreary woods.
All the other little bunnies eagerly hopped over to the beginning of the trail, none of them seemed scared at all.
15
Hinkle dragged his ears and tail slowly in pursuit of the other bunnies.
He stopped, looked around one last time at his lovely meadow, then followed the rest into the dark and dreary woods to follow the long trail.

18
"We're almost there!" mamma bunny shouted, but Hinkle didn't believe her. He thought this would never end! Hinkle started to wish he were back in his meadow, laying in the shade of the big oak tree.

20
As he started to picture his meadow, every little flower and all the grass, the woods started to seem less and less dreary.
21
Soon, there was so much sun light!
" I must be really good at imagining things!" thought Hinkle. He could almost feel the grass under his feet, he must be really good at this.
