One day Harry decided he wanted to leave the city and the spotlight to learn more about the biomes around him. The biomes he wanted to travel to were the Tundra, the Taiga, the Desert, the Grasslands, the Temperate Forest, and the Tropical Rain Forest

The first place he wanted to visit was the Tundra. So, the next day he boarded a flight to Alaska where is was very cold. Once he got off the plane he noticed the little vegetation that was around him. He saw mosses, trees, and small shrubs but that was about it. He walked for what seemed like an eternity until he got to where he was staying. But, sadly since the Tundra gets 6-10 inches of rain a year, his house was flooded. For 5 nights he had to sleep in a tent outside.

It was extremely cold and it hadn't rained in days. He was getting dehydrated so he went out in search of water. He found a stream a couple of miles from his camp site. It had plenty of fresh water for him to use until he could leave. But, he wasn't the only one who was enjoying the nice cool water. There was also a Polar Bear and some Caribou to keep him company. So, as any civilized person would do, he got the water and ran back to camp. As he was running he started wandering how those animals were warm. He thought that since they live in a cold environment they have thick fur coats. He also got to thinking if any of the plants have adapted. He wandered how the plants survived on minimal sunlight. They must only require a little bit of energy to live.

As Harry was awaiting his flight to go to the Taiga, he saw a booklet with the Tundra on the front. Inside it said that the Tundra covered 1/5 of the entire planet. He thought that was insane. He kept on reading to see that some summer days can last up to 24 hours long! As his plane approached his terminal, he could not wait to go to the Taiga and at least have a little warmth. He boarded his flight and was so happy to finally be able to sleep peacefully.

He was on his flight for what seemed like 30 minutes, and all of a sudden the engines shut off and they were falling closer to the ground by the second. He asked the flight attendant where they were and she said over a small town outside of Moscow, Russia. He grabbed all of his luggage and parachuted out of the plane. The wind was bad and suddenly he found himself in the middle of nowhere once again.

The flight attendant then landed shortly after him. He asked how large the Taiga was and she said that it streches across the Northern part of North America to northern parts of Eurasia. There was suddenly a loud rumble in the distance and they could see the dark clouds start to roll in. So, they set off into the forest to seek shelter for the night.

Harry knew that even though they were in the Taiga it was still going to be cold. He gathered wood for a fire, and used blankets as a makeshift bed. On the way to get food he spotted a deer running really fast through the woods. He decided to chase it to see where it was headed. But, sadly when the deer stopped running all he saw was a lot of elk. He had now lost his luggage, the flight attendant, and his camp site.

Harry then made a fire out of dead branches off of evergreen trees and oak trees, and made a bed on the ground for him to sleep on. The rain that night came down like a ton of buckets. The annual rainfall is 10-30 inches, so who knows when it will stop. He then drifted away into a deep sleep by the sound of the rolling thunder in the sky.

When he woke up the next morning it seemed like it was still dark outside. The trees he was standing under held their leaves all year so they did not have to try and grow them back in the spring. The Evergreens gave him plenty of shade throughout the time he was there. He rolled over and found a bunny rabbit curled up next to him. The bunny was surprisingly warm. But, they have thick fur coats to keep them warm throughout the winter. The day was ticking past and Harry kept trying to find his way out of the forest. He saw a big smoke cloud out in the distance and decided to follow it. Fire in the Taiga is not uncommon and can spread very quickly. So, this fire could be very far away. He soon found his way into Moscow and found a flight to the Desert. On his plane there was a man who was saying that most of the Taiga in North America was once covered in glaciers. Now that seemed crazy to Harry!
