Jessie loved dancing.
She danced everyday with her mum

They twirled around the living room...
...pranced through the garden beds...
...and leapt over the washing basket.

Every Saturday morning, Jessie's mum took her to dance class.

She twirled around the dance teacher...
...pranced by the barre...
... and leapt higher than she had ever leapt before.

But one day, Jessie's dad told her that her mum wouldn't be living with them anymore.
Jessie was very sad.

Jessie was so sad that she didn't even want to dance anymore.

She sat in the living room...
...drooped through the garden beds...
...and walked past the washing basket.

Jessie missed her mum so much. She didn't like living alone with her dad.
She didn't like going to dance class with her dad either.

She didn't like twirling with her dad...
...prancing with her dad...
...or leaping with her dad.

It just wasn't the same.

Jessie didn't understand why her mum had left them.
Was it because she didn't love Jessie anymore?

One Saturday morning, it was time for her dad to take Jessie to her dance class.

But Jessie didn't want to go. She started to cry.
Jessie's dad gave her a big hug and asked her what was wrong.
Jessie cried harder into her dad's shoulder. "I miss mum so much." she whispered.
"So do I," dad whispered back as he squeezed Jessie tight.
