How to Take Care of Our Earth!

Hi! My name is Penny and i would like to show you how to take good care of Earth, our home!

Aluminum Canned foods and canned drinks can be recycled to produce more cans. One aluminum can saves enough energy to run a television for three hours!

You can save the Earth by using reusable bags when grocery shopping. Plastic bags cannot be recycled in recycling plants. You can drop off plastic bags at grocery stores where they are recycled to make plastic lumber!

Composting is when food and/or paper is placed in a bin where it breaks down to create soil. Composting helps decrease the amount of garbage in our landfills.

You can use the soil (compost ) and add it to dirt as a fertilizer to nourish plants!

Earth Day is on April 22nd of every year. It’s a day dedicated to Earth. You can plant a tree, pick up garbage from the beach or do anything that helps show people how important it is to take care of our Earth!

By cleaning our beaches, we can save fish and other sea animals from choking on plastics or getting hurt by canned beverages or any garbage left behind by people.

There is so much garbage produced that landfills are getting bigger and bigger every day! Help reduce garbage by recycling at home.

Hawaii banned plastic bags. Choose paper bags instead of plastic to help our Earth.

Inform your friends how to help take care of Earth. Every person who helps makes a difference!

Reuse your juice boxes when you are finished with them. It takes plastic coded juice boxes 5 years to decompose in landfills!

By picking up garbage around your neighborhood, you can keep earth beautiful.

All the garbage thrown in trash bins go to a landfills where it stays for year after year. The more you recycle the less garbage we will see in the landfills.

Be mindful of the amount of water you use. When you are brushing your teeth, remember to turn the water faucet off when you don’t need it.

Never litter! Hold on to your garbage and throw it in a compost bin if it’s fruit, vegetables, or paper. If your garbage consists of plastics, aluminum, and glass throw away in a recycling bin.

There are 5.25 trillion pieces of trash and counting in the Great Pacific Garbage Patch, it is found in the Pacific Ocean.

Pick up trash you see around the beach , park, and street to keep.

You can ask your teacher questions about what you can do to help set up recycling bins at your school or class.

Water conservation can help guarantee a reliable water source in coming years. Don’t leave the water running when washing your hands. Wet your hands with some soap then rinse off after lathering the soap.

Use soil from your compost bin to plant a garden!

Together we can help make the world a better place by keeping trash out of our lakes, parks, and ocean.

Under all the scraps in the compost bin you can find Red Wigglers. They help break down the scraps of produce and paper.
