People have always loved magic and mystery. As young children, a lot of us loved Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić's Croatian Tales from Long Ago. Who doesn't remember how Malik Tintilinić saved a poor old woman from her evil daughter-in-law, who was actually an adder from the spell-bound Stribor's Forest? Long before we found out about a young wizard from Hogwarts and the evil Voldemort, our parents told about mythical creatures and epic fights between good and evil. For hundreds of years people have been fascinated by the dark and mysterious world of magic potions, witches, werewolves and vampires.

Today, the most popular 'magical' stories are Harry Potter and Twilight Saga . Two centuries before these books appeared, Bram Stoker wrote his famous novel Dracula and long before Bella met Edward, there was a man called Jure Grando . He was the first man ever to be called a vampire. And he lived here, in Croatia.
