An Alphabet Guide To Super Mario

A is for Arcade. Super Mario Bros. was the first video game that was not created in an arcade style.

B is for Bowser. Bowser is Mario’s nemesis. He first appeared in Super Mario Bros. in 1985.

B b

C is for Cartridge. Super Mario Bros. was released for the NES in cartridges. Before CD's were made cartridges held the information that ran video games.

C c

D is for Disk. Now Nintendo games are released in disks or CD's. CD is short for compact disk.

E is for Eternal. Super Mario Bros. and other Super Mario games have become eternal in the hearts and minds of children and adults.

F is for Fire Flowers. Fire flowers are a power up that allow Mario to shoot fireballs at his enemies. They first appeared in Super Mario Bros. for the NES.

G is for Gameboy. Nintendo launched the Gameboy in Japan in 1989. Today the Gameboy has been replaced by the Nintendo 3DS handheld console.

H is for Hours. Super Mario Bros. and all of the other Super Mario games that Nintendo created provide countless hours of play time.

I is for Innovation. Super Mario Bros. is known for being the first platform game created. This change in gaming style lead to the games we have today.

J is for Japan. Super Mario Bros. was released in Japan several months before it was released in the United States in 1985.

K is for Koopa Troopas. Koopa Troopas are enemies that are part of Bowser's army. Their goal is to rid Mario of his power ups.

L is for Luigi. Luigi is Mario’s green brother. He first appeared in Mario Brothers, Arcade, in 1983.

M is for Mario. Mario first appeared in Donkey Kong, Arcade, in 1981. He is recognized around the world more than Mickey Mouse.

N is for Nintendo. Nintendo is the company that makes Super Mario Games. They also make Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda and many other video games.

O is for Opponent. In Super Smash Bros. you can play against your friends and family. When you play against your friends and family they are your opponents.

P is for Princess Peach. Princess Peach is also known as Princess Toadstool. She first appeared in Super Mario Bros. for the NES in 1985.

Q is for quick. In order to do well in Super Mario Bros. the player needs to have quick reflexes.

R is for Princess Rosalina. Princess Rosalina first appeared in Super Mario Galaxy for the Wii. She is the protector of little star creatures called Lumas.
