1.Nervous System
Introduction
The Brain is the most important part of the
nervous system.
The nervous system has thousands of
bits of information from the body and the
outside environment.

Neurons
Contains genes
They are different from other cells.
There are dozens of different types of neurons
and they have different functions such as motion
or senses.

Neurotransmitters
They are chemicals that carry the
information to the next neuron. Telling the
neurons to either fire an electrical signal
telling the neuron to act or remain silent

Peripheral Nervous System
This system carries information between
organs.
It has two other systems involved with it
the automatic, which controls the muscles,
and the somatic, which controls the body's
movement.

Central Nervous System
Consists of the spinal cord and brain.
The spinal cord is the main connection for
information going to the brain.
It also has 30 pairs of nerve bundles that
connect to other parts of the body.

2. The Brain
Command center.
Where imagination takes place.
Controls every thought and feeling.

Parts of the Brain
Two Hemispheres: The right side of the
brain controls the left side of the body
and the right side of the brain controls
the left side of the body.
Brain stem: Controls involuntary actions

Lobes of the Brain
The brain has four lobes, the frontal lobe,
the temporal lobe, the parietal lobe, and
the occipital.
Frontal-Controls motor, creativity, and
emotional reactions.
Temporal-Hearing, music,understanding
speech, memory for non verbal events.
Parietal-Body senses, position, orientation,
pressure, heat, cold, pain, reading,
thinking.
Occipital-Vision.
