There once was a dog named Shadow, He was a little puppy who lived with his mighty parents. His dad was Striker, the hero of all dogs and his mom was a super-dog mom.
Shadow wanted to be just like his parents, but often he felt very small and tiny.

One day after dinner, Shadow decided that he would find out the secret to being a hero.
He went up to his mother and asked her,
“Mom, How can I be a big mighty hero like you?"

Shadows Mom replied, “ Son, you are always going to be our little hero”.
Shadow frowned, “But mom, I want to be big and mighty like Dad too, I want all the dogs to like me”
Shadow's mom gave him a big hug and told him to go ask his father what the secret of being a big mighty dog is.

Shadow crawled up to his father’s Den, “Dad?”, Shadow called.
“Yes son?”, his father replied. “How can I be big and mighty like you are?”
“Well son,” Shadow’s father began,“All it takes is one good deed at a time”
“And is that how I can become a hero?”, Shadow asked.
“Yes, That is how you become a hero”, His dad replied.

The next day Shadow went to school, it was his first day and he decided to be brave and talk to all the other dogs.
When Shadow entered his classroom all the dogs recognized him as the mighty Striker’s son, Shadow was immediately famous because of his Father and Mother!

Shadow felt good getting all the attention but still he did not feel like a Hero.
Shadow felt sad that was not as mighty as his father.
He decided to leave class early and walk home.
