One sunny day Troy went to the candy store. He had saved up all his money in his piggy bank so he could get some bubblegum. Troy had 1 whole dollar or 4 coins. Troy didn’t want just any bubblegum, he wanted his favorite, juicy blue bubblegum.

When Troy got to the candy store he went straight to the gumball machine. He put in his .25c and crossed his fingers for a juicy blue gumball, but out rolled a bright pink gumball. Troy suspected this would happen so he was prepared.

He still had .75c in his pocket so he put another quarter in the machine, and out came a yellow speckled gumball. Troy was getting impatient. So he put in another quarter and this time, out came a dark purple gumball.

Troy only had one quarter left. He put the shiny coin into the machine and crossed his fingers and toes. Troy shut his eyes tight. He was too afraid to look. He heard the gumball roll out into hand and peeked his eyes open.

A yucky red gumball. “ICK”, cried Troy. He especially hated the red ones. Even more than the bright pink, the speckled yellow, and the dark purple gumballs!

Troy threw the yucky red gumball at the machine. “Thtupid machine!” He yelped. He turned around to go home but heard a funny noise. It was the gumball machine. Chick cheek wakka wakka ching BOOM! The gumball machine was broken! Troy ran home as fast as he could.
