Excited for their wedding day, Theseus and
Hyppolyta talk to Egeus about his concerns
for his daughter. He wants her to be with
Demetrius who is he believes is more
respectable than Lysander.

Upset, Hermia and Lysander decide to run
away. They run into Hermia's best friend,
Helena, and tell her the news.
Helena loves Demetrius, and is sad that she
is being left behind by both Hermia and the
love of her life.

Helena decides to tell Demetrius of Hermia
and Lysander's plan to run away in hopes
that Demetrius will love her instead.

Meanwhile, a group of actors gather to plan
their play they wish to perform for the
upcoming wedding between Theseus and
Hippolyta.
Bottom steals the attention of all as he
claims the lead role. They plan to meet in
the forest that night to practice.

In the fairy world of the forest, Titania
and Oberon argue about what to do with
the changling boy.
Oberon asks trickster Puck to find the
flower to put a love spell on Titania to fall
in love with the first fool she sees.

While talking in the trees, Oberon and Puck
see Demetrius and Helena enter the wood
fighting.
Helena will do anything to make Demetrius
love her. Oberon tells Puck to put the love
potion on Demetrius as well to help
Helena's dream come true.

Titania and her fairies dance until Titania
falls asleep. Oberon puts love potion across
Titania's eyes.

While all of this happens in the fairy world,
Lysander and Hermia find their way into
the woods.
They grow weary and lay down to sleep.
Puck mistakes Lysander for Demetrius and
puts the love potion across his eyelids.

Puck disappears and watches and Helena
stumbles across Lysander sleeping.
Lysander falls in love with Helena the
moment he sets eyes on her, and begins to
chase after her. Helena thinks that
Lysander is making fun of her, though.

The actors all meet in the wood to practice
their play. Bottom continues to overshadow
all of the others.
Puck stumbles upon this group. When
Bottom steps away from his friends for a
minute, Puck plays a trick on him.
Bottom is turned into a donkey! Everyone
runs away in fear.

The actors were in the same area as Titania
while she was sleeping.
She wakes up to find Bottom as a donkey
and falls madly in love with him. The fairies
all begin to spoil Bottom.
