Reducing American Dependency on Foreign Oil
An all-of-the-above energy strategy aims to harness American innovation and develop a diverse portfolio of American-made energy. The Obama Administration is safely and responsibly developing our energy resources while advancing cleaner forms of energy, such as natural gas and renewables.
For the first time in nearly two decades, the U.S. produced more oil domestically than it imported from foreign sources. And the U.S. is now the number-one natural gas producer in the world.

Yes, because by spending this money we can ensure in the future that less will be spent and we wont rely on other countries changing their prices.
How will we benefit, short and long term?
Long term effects will be greater than short term ones. Long term effects will be a highly reduced price on government spending on foreign oil costs

Advancing Clean Energy
President Obama has also taken an all-in approach to innovation that starts with a strong commitment to basic and applied energy. That is why this Administration has made the largest investment in clean energy in American history and has launched several initiatives to advance clean energy deployment. Since President Obama took office, the U.S. has increased solar electricity generation by more than twenty-fold, and tripled electricity production from wind power.

Is this a good use of government spending?
Yes, because becoming independant from the oil industry will leave money to be allocated for different needs of America
How will we benefit, short and long term?
Short term, solar and nuclear energy will experience a newfound hold in the economy. Long term, there will be more diversity in the economy for renewable energy that will hopefully dominate.

Developing Clean Fuels
Biofuels are a key component of President Obama’s all-of-the-above energy strategy and play an important role in reducing America’s dependence on foreign oil. The Obama administration has supported research and engaged in public-private partnerships to pursue new innovations in biofuels technologies, increase production of U.S. biofuels, strengthen American energy security, and create jobs.

Is this a good use of government spending?
Yes, because when America develops cleaner fuels, deficet spending will decrease and revenue can be gained from selling these clean fuels
How will we benefit, short and long term?
Short term, we get newer fuels to use that cost less. Long term, our enviroment is cleaner and healthier
