So before I start talking about periods we need to know why they happen. They happen because of puberty, whats puberty?

So what is this thing called puberty? Puberty is the process of a humans reproduction organs becoming functional.

Puberty in women starts around ages 10 to 14, anyways puberty is a way of letting your body know that it is ready for reproducing! Well how does the body know when its ready for this huge change.?

The Pituitary gland is what release the hormone to make puberty start, the hormone goes through your body via bloodstream. When this happens your body starts doing amazing things like.... YOUR PERIOD!

During puberty young girls will notice pubic hair, more body odor, breast enlargement and Periods!! The first period you'll ever have is called Menarche. Your period should be about every 28 days lasting about a week or less depending on your body.
