Introduction
Exercise is very important in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It helps lower weight and creates a healthy lifestyle when done regularly. Exercise benefits every part of the body as we will learn in this book! Physical activity is critical for building strong muscles and bones.

SQUATS
This type of exercise helps strengthen muscles in the thighs, hips, and bottom. These muscles include the quadriceps femoris, hamstrings, and the glutes.

Squatting is performed by rotating at the hip joints and bending at the knees. It is important that the knees follow the toes in order to engage all of the body parts mentioned on page two.

PUSH-UPS
muscles in the arms shoulders and abs are targeted during push-ups. This includes abdominal muscles, deltoids, tricep muscles, pectoral muscles, and the coracobrachialis.

Push ups are performed in a plank position then tricep muscles help to bend the arm at the elbow. There are two phases of a push-up; first being when the elbows are flexed which allows for the arms to swing away from the body. The second phase is the position in which the body is lowered.
