We would like to thank our beloved teacher Mrs.Epich and the colonist.

It all start in the Proclamation of 1763.The Proclamation of 1763 started after the 7 years war, but don't worry to much about that. After the king put up the Proclamation of 1763 that is were everything started to go out of place.
There is a lot to talk about what happened after the Proclamation of 1763, but our act started in 1775.

In 1775 the king, George III made an act called the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act basically put taxes on newspaper, pamphlets, BOOKS, and playing cards
Colonists had to put a stamp on the goods to show that the taxes that came with it was paid. Colonist were outraged about having to pay the extra tax that came along with the good
Since colonists were upset they started to boycott the goods. That is were the Sons of Liberty entered. The Sons of Liberty was a secret organization that was formed to protect the right of the colonist and to fight taxation by the British government.
When the Sons of Liberty started to take action and a famous quote bloomed "taxation without representation". To make sure that the colonists were paying the taxes there were special tax collectors. If the colonists failed to pay these taxes they were sentenced to jail without jury.
Now we have to talk about the special people who took action in the Stamp act. These special people include Patrick Henry. There are more people but these are the most heard of.
Patrick Henry was a founding father and 2 time governor of the state of Virginia.Henry helped spread Revolutionary sentiment throughout the American colonies. Patrick Henry also made a speech that contained the phrase "Give me liberty or give me death."
