Plate tectonics are massive they are kind of known or shaped like a rock. It floats around on the Earth's surface wandering around in space.

The Theory for plate tectonics are very simple.....

The theory is it's known to be out of the earths outer layer. The layer it is made up for the plates to move around the whole entire earths surface!

My name is Alfred Wegener and I study earths layer and Continental Drift.

One day , Wegener was sitting there and he thought to himself I am going to discover something no one had ever heard. So he discovered a theory that was crazy.. The theory he discovered is called Pangaea.

Plates that shift over million of years, they separate during certain times.

The Inner Core: has it's way that shapes sometimes like a basketball and is made of iron and nickel

Lithosphere is the most solid part of the earth. it is also the upper layer and crust.

OUtEr Core

Outer core is known for being 3,000 miles underneath the Earths surface. It has super hot heat which melts into molten Lava.

Mantle: is the layer above the core. It also has 2 different parts which equals about 1,800 miles deep which is pretty incredible.

The Crust: is known as the thickest layer on the planet. It is 25 miles thick , and most earthquakes are occurred in this layer.
