ne winter night,
Penelope realized how punctuation helped her write.
She wanted to thank them in some way,
but she didn't know what to say.

So she asked her mom,
"How can I show appreciation
towards punctuation?"
Her mom replied,
"How about we have a party for punctuation?
We can call it a punctuation celebration!"

The next morning, Penelope began planning. She wanted to make the party enchanting!
She began setting up;
She got a cake, balloons, and cups!

Penelope invited all of her friends,
and planned the party for the next weekend.
She ordered food and decorations,
She was so excited for the celebrations!

On the day of the party, Comma forgot what train to take!
He was upset because he thought he'd miss the cake.
Then he remembered he had to take the train meaning 'a result',
but which one was that? He had to think of a friend to consult!

Effect

Affect

Comma called his friend Bolt,
who told him, "Affect means 'to influence' and effect means 'a result'".
Comma then knew he had to take the effect train.
He knew that one would lead to Awesomeness Lane.

Effect

At the house Penelope rehearsed what she would say,
hoping to make someone's day!
She would thank comma, period, and quotations,
for all of their hard word and dedication.
While she was writing, she ran into a problem!
She didn't know how to make the speech awesome!
She had something she wanted to say,
but didn't know whether to use lie or lay!

Then she realized lie requires an object, and lay does not!
That was going to help her story a lot!
Penelope wrote down the correct word,
and then she began writing a third.

As the day went by, the guests slowly started piling in.
Penelope stood proudly, with a big grin.
