Claire was trying to learn what words need to be capitalized and which words do not need to be capitalized.

Which words do we capitalize?
names? items? furniture?
places? animals? holidays?
Claire did not know. She went to speak with her friend Silvia to learn about which words she needs to capitalize.

"We have to capitalize important places, product names, and holidays".
The places that we capitalize have to be specific places. Like; Cincinnati, Australia, Denver, and Nashville.
The places that we do NOT capitalize are places like; lake, highway, or state, since these are not specific.

"Great! But what about holidays?"
Which holidays do you think we should capitalize?
- saint patricks day
- halloween
- spring
- christmas eve
- new years

All of these should be capitalized except for spring. This is a season not a holiday.
The correct way to write all these are;
Saint Patrick's Day
Halloween
spring
Christmas eve
New years
Remember that all the words in the holiday's name are capitalized.
