CHAPTER 1: MENSTRUAL PHASES
In order for you to prepare for a pregnancy, your body has to go through a series of changes, which we call the Menstrual Cycle.
During Phase 3, Ovulation is when you can or have been fertilized through conception, which results in pregnancy.
CHAPTER 2: Fertilization/Conception
The egg and sperm each contain 23 chromosomes. During conception, these chromosome combine to provide the 46 chromosomes, creating a human being. The newly formed cell is called a ZYGOTE. The cells divides and eventually makes its way into your uterus. There process is very long and complexed.
CHAPTER 3: Birth Defects/To Do and Not To Do
There are many factors which can affect your baby during pregnancy. Therefore, you must take precautions to reduce the risk of birth defects!
No not intake alcohol!
Do not eat soft cheeses!
Take your vitamins!
Genetic defects are the most common birth defects, so you should consult your doctor before becoming pregnant and know your risk factors. Also, in taking your prenatal vitamins is essential to pregnancy.
