This book is dedicated to
Kent Vacratsis for always being able to see things for more then what they are.

Larry spent his days as a laundry chute. But what he really dreamed about was becoming an Opera singer! He would practice all night long, while he was on break from being a laundry chute.

But one thing that was important to know about Larry, was that he was very sad. Everyday, day after day, people would open him up and dump their clothes in! No one asked about his day and definitely never asked to hear him sing Opera.

Until one day a little boy named Kent came along. Kent was very interested in Larry. He could see that there was more to Larry than meets the eye. So one day Kent got up the courage and spoke to Larry the Laundry Chute!

"Hello, what is your name?" asked Kent.
"Well my name is Larry" bellowed the laundry chute. "What is yours?"
"My name is Kent," Kent said.
After introductions were made Kent and Larry began to talk everyday. Sometimes their conversations lasted for hours!
Naturally, Kent learned that Larry loved to sing opera!
"I hope you will sing for me one day," Kent mentioned to Larry during a conversation one afternoon. Larry was more then happy to oblige.
Kent slowly opened the door to Larry's laundry chute. He turned his ear just inside the door so that he could hear better. And waited. Moments later out came the most beautiful sound of music that Kent had ever heard!
