The federal government created a system of checks and balances, this limited the power and authority of the federal government. One of the branches was Legislative branch, it made up two house the United States senate and House of Representatives. The houses made up Congress which makes up the laws.

The second branch is the Executive branch it had the president, vice president, and fifteen cabinet members. Both of the president and vice president had to be at least 35 years old, a natural born citizen, and a resident of the U.S for at least fourteen years prior to the election. They are elected for four years and can be re-elected once, if the president dies, resigns or gets impeached the vice president cannot take over.

The third branch of the government is the Judicial branch, the Judicial also know as the Supreme Court, interprets the Constitution and other laws. They also reviews lower- court decisions. The united states supreme court is the highest court all over, it includes a chief justice and eight associate.
