Radiation is a method of heat transfer that does not rely upon any contact between the heat source and the heated object as is the case with conduction and convection. Heat can be transmitted through empty space by thermal radiation often called infrared radiation.

Conduction-the process by which heat or electricity is directly transmitted through a substance when there is a difference of temperature or of electrical potential between adjoining regions, without movement of the material.////// We heated the water up with conduction
Convection-the movement caused within a fluid by the tendency of hotter and therefore less dense material to rise, and colder, denser material. Convection is the movement of groups and molecules
Radiation-the emission of energy as electromagnetic waves or as moving subatomic particles, especially high-energy particles that cause ionization. Radiation is caused by things with the sun

ALBEDO-the proportion of the incident light or radiation that is reflected by a surface, typically that of a planet or moon.
It is a reflection coefficient, and has a value of less than one.
The albedo of a surface is the ratio of radiation reflected from the surface to the incident radiation. Its dimensionless nature lets it be expressed as a percentage and is measured on a scale from zero (no reflection) of a perfectly black surface to 1 for perfect reflection of a white surface. Because albedo is the ratio of all reflected radiation to incident radiation,
The albedo of a surface is the ratio of radiation reflected from the surface to the incident radiation. Its dimensionless nature lets it be expressed as a percentage and is measured on a scale from zero (no reflection) of a perfectly black surface to 1 for perfect reflection of a white surface. Because albedo is the ratio of all reflected radiation to incident radiation, it will include both the diffuse and specular radiation reflected from an object. It is, however, common to assume a surface reflects in either a totally specular manner or a totally diffuse manner, as this can simplify calculations.

HEAT DIFFERENCES...
Mountains affect climate by blocking wind and receiving more rainfall than low-lying areas. As air is forced over higher ground, it cools, causing moisture to condense and fall as rain. The higher a location is above sea level, the colder it is. This occurs because as altitude increases, the surround airing becomes thinner and less effective at absorbing and retaining heat.

URBAN HEAT- is an urban area or metropolitan area that is significantly warmer than its surrounding rural areas due to human activities.
cold air scatters over a warm body of water and creates the urban heat island.
Fog starts to occur when this all happens
The processes reduce the albedo factor of asphalt, which is a major contributor to the urban heat islandeffect. One fad that's gaining popularity is the installation of green roofs atop city buildings.
