This is Eleanor of Aquitaine. She was one of the most powerful and influential people of her time.

She was well educated and became her father's heir at the age of 5 and took over his inheritence when he died.


At the age of 15, Eleanor married King Louis VII of France and they were named king and queen of France.




Together they had 2 daughters, but their marriage was very unhappy.

Eleanor had an annulment take place and two months later she married Henry.



They had 8 children together. 5 were boys and 3 were girls. Eleanor and Henry were named king and queen of England within two years of their marriage.
