King Clovis was born 466 CE in Paris, France. He was the King of the Franks. His Dynasty was the Merovingian's. He was the son of a pagan Frankish King.

His kingdom went from modern Belgium to northeastern France. By the time of his death King Clovis had expanded his influence to province of Belgica Secunda, territories of the Alemanni, and the Burgundian's.

Clovis was an important Allie of the Byzantine Empire. Before he was converted to Catholic Christianity he was very diplomatic with the Catholic Bishops.

King Clovis Converted to Catholic Christianity to set him self apart from the other Germanic kings. He could also have the help of other large Catholic Empires.

Gregory of Tours wrote a lot about King Clovis. He describes him as single-minded warrior. He calls him the new Constantine because he made Christianity wide spread across his empire.

King Clovis also married a catholic Burgundian princess named Coltida. It is she who gets him to convert. He had 5 Children with her. He also had a son from a previous relationship

An unexpected victory in battle led King Clovis to God and to being Baptized. He was Baptized by Bishop Reims.

Clovis changed many things in his empire. He spread Christianity and untied his people. He changed his whole family's religion and the way they lived. People in modern day France and Belgium and the places he conquered are still christian to this day.
