I dedicate this book to all the kids in Holland Jefferson School. Thank you!

Hi Everybody! My name is Alysa. Do you think you can help me? I need to go to Greece, but I don't want to go alone.

This is Greece!

Are you coming?

I heard that in Greece, there are big mountains and salty oceans. There are many islands and peninsulas too. Peninsulas are pieces of land that are surrounded by water on 3 sides.

Woah! I think we made it! It is really hot and dry here, and I see some mountains.

Who are you? I have never seen you before.
Hi! I'm Alysa. Do you think you could tell me how to get to ancient greece?

You don't have to look very far to get to Greece, you're already here!
Really?

Yeah! Well, kind of. Greece is spread into many different colonies
What is a clony?

Come with me and I will show you!
Ok!

Man, it sure is hard to get places! Everything is so spread out!
Yes, all of the colonies are spread out because there isn't enough land for everyone to live on. The mountains take up too much space!

Come look at my map, it shows you where all of the colonies are.
See the orange? Those are the greek colonies! We are in the green area.

Oh, so a colony is like a city? They follow the same rules, but are just in a different place?
Exactly!

Do you have a job?
Yes! I am a Farmer! This is where I work.
