There once was a boy named Sodium. He lived in a kingdom far far away called Periodic table in a little city called Group 1. Sodium lived with his alkali metal family. He was the third child of seven. Sodium is also called Na as a nickname. Sodium's name comes from the Latin word "natrium" meaning sodium carbonate.

Sodium is a soft metal that tarnishes within seconds of being exposed to air. Sodium is a silvery- white color. Sodium's favorite number is 11 and weighs about 22.990 grams.
Sodium does not get along when coming into contact with water. When Sodium reacts with water Sodium Hydroxide and hydrogen gas is produced.

Sodium is used in baking soda when foods are being baked.

One day, Sodium felt lonely. He felt that he had no friends. Sodium, then decided to go on a journey in search for a friend.
Sodium, after visiting many places around the world, ran into a man named Humphry Davy. Who helped sodium meet a friend named Hydroxide and exposed them to an electric current.
After meeting Hydroxide, Sodium decided to go to the ocean where he met Chloride. Chloride and Sodium grew such a special bond they became known as Salt. Salt became a hero to many by enhancing flavor of food.
