Stephen F. Austin was born on November 3, 1793 in Austinville Georgia.
Early Life
FUN FACT: Stephen F. Austin went to Yale University.
He moved to San Antonio and began working with the Mexican government. Austin started settling colonies in Texas.
Mid-Life
FUN FACT: Stephen F. Austin colonized over 300 families.

Austin's life got harder when the Mexican government stopped wanting to sell land. He was thrown in a Mexican prison and Texas declared it's independence from Mexico.

Texas became a an independent state in 1836. Austin was a secretary of state and became known as the "father of Texas."
