First Stage of Forming
All storms begin with hot and moist air rising. As the heated air rises into the dry and cool air, the air fights and forms into water vapor, a process called condensation. Once more warm air rises high enough, the droplets start forming together and causing a cumulus cloud to form.
(SEE CLOUD TYPES TO THE RIGHT)
Second Stage:
Ice crystals and water droplets start forming in the cloud. The water droplets keep getting bigger and BIGGER and then, PLOP! They get too heavy and fall out of the cloud to the ground. The ice crystals do the same thing but if it is summer, as they fall they melt and turn into water when they fall.
Go to next stage to see how rain showers turn into thunderstorms.
By the way... This isn't my house.
Third stage:
If it is hot enough, some of the water in the cloud starts rising to the top of the cloud and stretches the cloud which makes the cloud a cumulonimbus cloud and the cloud gets very full of water. All the water makes the cloud look black or dark gray. Then atoms start forming and also, electrons start forming. (make a new tab on your computer, phone, or tablet and look up what atoms and electrons are if you don't know what they are.)
Fourth stage:
The Electrons start orbiting the atoms. If any atoms get full of electrons the atoms sink to the bottom of the cloud WITH the electrons still orbiting them. If any atoms don't get full of electrons those atoms float to the top of the cloud. If the bottom of the cloud gets to crowded, static electricity starts building up and the atoms shoot down and they also have negative energy.
