When the earth faces the moon it becomes night. When the earth faces the sun it becomes day.

The sun is a big star. It is 92.96 million miles away from earth. That's why it looks so little.

Why are there seasons?

When the earth gets close to the sun it becomes summer. When the earth gets far away from the sun it becomes winter. We go through all four seasons as the earth travels around the sun.

Why does the sun burn us?

If too much light hits our skin, over time it can hurt our skin cells. The skin gets red, and it can hurt because it is burned. Light comes from the sun, but it can also bounce off of other surfaces like water, snow, and concrete.
