Paul The Jew
Saul, a Pharisee, who later became St. Paul set out to arrest those Jews who were following Jesus. Paul had 3 missionary journeys. Paul wrote many books in the New Testament. Paul became the Apostle to the Gentiles.

The Conversion Story
On the road to Damascus, Saul was knocked from his horse and was blinded. This resulted in his conversion. When Saul was knocked down he heard a voice which was Jesus, and he said "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me." Saul then asked who is this and Jesus replies and said "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting, Now get up and go to the city, and you will be told what you must do."

Relationship to Jews
The council of Jerusalem decided finally that Gentiles did not have to be circumcised in order to be Baptized. One question facing the early follower of Jesus was whether Gentiles should have to become followers of Jesus.

Apostles to Gentiles
Paul made three long missionary journeys and brought the good news to Jesus to Jew and Gentile.
Three missionary journeys
The first one was with Barnabas and John Mark. They went to the island of Cyprus before heading to the mainland. Their initial thrust was to the Jews, but after a time they turned there attention to the Gentiles.
The second journey is when Silas joined Paul. They picked up Timothy and Luke. Paul made his first visit to Corinth where he stayed for about a year and a half.
The third journey was marked by Paul and his team staying longer at various places. Paul was arrested in Jerusalem and spent the bulk of his final 10 years in prison.

Helpers
The church in Antioch wanted to send out missionaries to preach and start new works. Barnabas and Paul were chosen. Barnabas was the leader and Paul was the disciple.
Silas was one of the leaders among the brothers, prophets, and encouraging speakers.
Lydia met Paul on his second missionary journey. She was a seller of purple cloth. The story of Lydia is a good example of God's providence.

Paul's Writings
Paul wrote many books of the New Testament. They were written to churches Paul had a relationship with or people Paul met along the way. The books are Romans, 1 Corinthians, 2 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, Philemon.
