He aims and pulls the trigger. He is out of ammo and whispers "no". He hesitates and grabs his teammates gun that is on the ground and shoots the enemy in the chest.
He whispers "Yes!" to himself. He looks down to his teammate and says "Thanks Pal!" He sprints down into the trench toward the gunfire. He runs by some teammates that have trench foot. Their feet are full of fungus and their skin is peeling off. He stops and says to them "Sorry, our trenches aren't as clean or dry as our enemy's."
He leaves them and runs farther down the trench. Pvt. Rogers runs through puddles, muck, and wet mud. Pvt. Rogers sees tons of rats running away from the gunfire. He says to himself, "these trenches are full of rats, and not just regular rats, big, fat, and covered in mud rats!" Pvt. Rogers continues to run toward the gunfire. It takes about three minutes to run there because the trenches during WW2 were miles long.
When he arrives to the front lines he runs and dives onto a muddy slope. He then slides down becuase it was muddy and wet. "The mud is way worse down here on the front lines, I can barely stand!" he shouts to some of his teammates on the front line. He looks and sees that his teammates are full of mud, "I don't know how they can even see!"
