This is for you, Dr. E!
(And of course, all the organisms in the Chesapeake Bay.)

My Daddy and I love to go fishing.

Every summer, he takes me to a place called the Chesapeake Bay. I can't pronounce it well, but Daddy says that's okay.
Fishing there was always fun! We caught bass, crabs, and even oysters!

But every year we went, I noticed the bay was changing.
Lots of trees were being cut down, and houses were built instead. The bay became very busy.

?
I asked Daddy where all the forest animals would go without a home. He said he was sure they'd be okay.
Every year we caught less fish. It seemed like the more people that moved in, the more fish were scared away. The water began to look funny sometimes.

On my 10th birthday, we went to the bay. We didn’t catch any fish. I started to cry.
