Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, born from Zeus and Dione has a very interesting love story.

One day Hera, Aphrodite, and Athena were competing for beauty. They each gave the judge, Paris, a gift to try to get him to pick them.

Aphrodite's gift was her marriage. He liked her gift so he picked Aphrodite as the winner of the contest.

I pick Aphrodite!

But then Paris leaves Aphrodite for another goddess which makes Aphrodite mad. This was a main cause of the Trogan War.

Get them!

The war ended and now whenever Aphrodite walks through town every god stares at her because she is so beautiful.

Zeus finally solved the problem of Aphrodite marrying someone by giving her a husband himself.

I will pick who you marry!

Zeus picked the ugliest of them all, Hephaestus. Every other god was devastated because the beautiful Aphrodite had been married.

Hey Zeus!

You will marry my daughter!

Okay.

They got married but Aphrodite was secretly still having affairs* with other gods and mortals.

*Affair- When you are in love with someone while in a relationship with another.

Her real love was her brother, Ares. She had a few children with him, Anteros, Phobos, maybe Eros, and maybe his twin Himeros.
