Amira is 28 years old. Up until a few months ago she lived in Aleppo, one of Syria's cities.

The lifestyle there , before the war , was happy and peaceful. Syria had a lot of tourist attractions. The inhabitants were friendly and we didn't feel anxious about the crime rate.

Generally, it was a wealthy country.

My daily routine was a bit busy.I worked as a science teacher at central Allepo University. In addition, I went shopping and hanged out with my friend Jasmin downtown.

In 2008 I met Elias in a disco club.He was cute

and I fell in love with him.He also liked me , so we decided to get married in 2009.After one year on 31-10-2010 my daughter , Maya , was born. I was very happy for having a family.

Unfortunately, a war broke up in March 2011.I was terrified.Elias joined National Resistance.

Our home was destroyed because of the bombings. We were homeless and hungry.

I couldn't hear from Elias. Every day dozens of people were killed. Rescue teams tried to save the survivors in vain. Fire was everywhere. We suffocated from the smoke.I was hopless , so I decided to leave Allepo with my daughter.

In Syria adults and mostly, children die from starvation. The war has started and there is panic and terrorism.

Because of the war, Amira decided to leave Allepo. She took her daughter with her and left with many more people.

They travelled about a week with 200 more citizens until they arrived in Turkey.

Amira crossed the Aegean Sea in a boat with her daughter and many other refugees.
